Thumbs down 91 manual shifting problem

I own a 1991 ford explorer and recently my stifting on a manual transmission has gone wrong. i took it to a garage in town and he said it was the clutch....but i opened the cap on the trasmission (you know to fill it ) and oil poued out after i emptyed that the shifting got better it is now about a week later and the same thing has happened i have not had the chance to check if it is over full. What is the problem and what can be done about it?

Please help!

Re: 91 manual shifting problem

eh? you say you opened the cap... do you mean plug? I'm not familiar with manuals having caps... corse, I tend to play mostly with GM and foreign fellas...
