Help! Water Leak in 2000 Yukon
I have a 2000 GMC Yukon 5.3L, which I just bought. The car came from the desert in Arizona, so the prior owner (father-in-law) probably never knew about it. Now it’s back east and leaks when it rains. It doesn’t have to be moving to leak… not splashing up from underneath. The leak doesn’t appear to be from the windshield. It’s getting in somewhere on the driver’s side behind the front wheel well. It has soaked the carpeting and when I first discovered it, the carpeting was under water. Does anyone know if there were any known problems with this year/model? Anyone have a similar problem with a thought of where this could be originating?
Thanks! |

Had similar problem in back though. Lukily mine was under warranty. they replaced the door gasket to fix the leak and then all of the carpet was replaced.

I had a leak in my '99 yukon. Water was leaking through the caulking on the passenger side cargo area window. Water ran under the carpet all the way up to the driver door. I removed the black plastic above the tail-light and added some more caulking.

Had it too on our 2000 Yukon XL. Fixed under warranty, so sorry...I don't know what they did.
