make truck faster

hey guys i got a 1988 gmc 1500 ... long box ok.. now its standard with a v6 in it.. ok now its just not as fast as i want it to be. is there anything i can do to it to make it faster.. like without spending alot of money on it.... i was thinkin of a intake.. i heard you can make one got any ideassss please help me out thanks guys

Intake might help a bit, like 2-10 hp or something like that, but really if you want a 4000 + pound brick to go faster there's an old saying, "there's no replacement for displacement" Swap the engine for a v8 preferably a 350, much more power and beleive it or not you'll get pretty much the same gas mileage, maybe even better mileage if you carry loads or tow anything. Also try posting in the Chevy CK forum, same truck, but they seem to get quicker and better responses over there
