I have a 2001 Venture and the power sliding door will not lock or unlock using either of the power/electric options. It will not work with the keyfob or the switch on either front door which is to lock/unlock all doors. The only way I can lock and unlock it is manually sliding the lever on the door. Please help!!!! Is this a connection issue, motor issue, fuse issue?? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Have you tried cleaning the electrical connections between the door and the door frame? There is a pad of about 6 brass looking plates on the frame and there are 6 corresponding spring loaded connectors on the door. Try cleaning them with a scoth-brite type pad to create a good connection. I have done this a couple of times on my 2001 Venture and it clears it right up..

Re: Power slider won't lock/unlock by electrical sources
I have heard a pencil eraser will also clean them. It's not as abrasive, but it also won't do as much if they are in really bad condition.

Thank you so much for the advise, however, I just used a scotch-brite pad and clean both sides. This doesn't help. Is there possibly a wiring issue?? A wire that has disconnected or erroded?? I have read other threads where they were having power sliding door problems and it was relate to wiring. Thanks! |

Re: Re: Power slider won't lock/unlock by electrical sources
Thank you for your suggestion. Cleaning the connections didn't help. Please see my response below.... are you aware of any wiring problems that could cause this?? Thanks!

Re: Power slider won't lock/unlock by electrical sources
The power sliding door opening/closing is controled by the BCM. Occasionally it gets confused and the buttons don't operate the open/close functionality until it has been reprogrammed. I don't beleive this is the same as your problem though as you are having problems with the locking only, correct?
I would round up a wiring diagram and a multimeter and start poking around. See if the connectors ever get a voltage. If they do, then you know it's something within the door. If they don't, tracing it back to figure out where the problem is at. |

Re: Power slider won't lock/unlock by electrical sources
Thank you for the information. I will see if I can round up someone who can check out the wiring for me. Have a great Memorial Weekend.
