Transmission intermittently stuck in 1st gear, help needed!
Hi, having some really annoying problems with my S13 auto tranny.
Symptoms :- after a stop light and starting move off, sometimes, it refuses to shift into second gear. So I end up revving it up to 5k+ and still to no avail. Sometimes it kicks in after a few revs but normally it does not help. The only thing that seems to help is if I stopped the car, turn off the engine and restart it again. Voila, it drives normally. Is my auto tranny on the way out? I just did a flush and filled it with new oil about a month ago. I suspect that something electronic is acting up since 'restarting' the engine seems to solve it. Appreciate any ideas! Thanks in advance! |

ah yes the good ole flush
run across a 500 foot long bed of hot coal for doing so NEVER FLUSH YOUR TRANSMISSION you need an overhaul At first I was going to say it sounds like your filter could be plugging up from debris and now that I read further and saw the FLush deal I know what happened LOL. When you flush a transmission it blows all the shit in the pan all inside the transmission, and it only takes one little properly placed salt grain sized chunk of metal to stick a valve up. I don't care what aamaco commercials you see(criminals) they are wrong, they want to flush your transmission so it fucks up and they can voerhaul it.... its all a big scam. Don't get me wrong I can think of ONE good use of flushing a tranny, but other then that do a regular service. And I would only do a regular service to my cars anyway. The Transmission builders from the factory recromend that you do a drop pan tranny service, as does any other manufactuer. And anyone online who tells you to flush it and a regular service doesn't change out all the fluid doesn't know their ass from a hole in the wall. Plus even if your argument was that a flush job gets all the fluid out your wrong. Unless you ran the car putting it into different gears(which they don't) you won't get all the fluid out. sorry about your luck, I am 100% positive you need an overhaul |
