99 Z71 ABS and Brake lights on all the time.....

Well, not actually all the time but almost as soon as I pull away after starting the motor. They go off right away after startup just like normal but then come on shortly after that.

And they don't go off until I restart the engine.

I put my ODB II reader on it and it doesn't show any ABS or brake trouble codes, even while the lights are on. And leaving the reader inserted will not turn them off like it does other trouble codes, like 137 for O2 sensor.

I'm thinking wheel speed sensor but I hate to start replacing them without knowing which one, if any, is bad.

Anyone ever tried cleaning these sensors? It shouldn't be a big deal for a backyard mechanic like me but I've never touched them before.

Suggestions?

Thanks.

Jim
