My that sure is a weird noise...

I just recently replaced my lash adjusters, and there was a weird noise almost like something is loose and rolling around in my engine, at first I thought it was in the rear valve cover, but I took everything apart agin and inspected inside the valve cover but everything looked just fine. It is definitly a rotating type sound, but for the life of me I can't figure out what it is, Now I can't tell if it is coming from the center of my engine or the rear bank. I took a gas hose and used it as a 'redneck stethoscope' and listened around but could not pinpoint it. It almost sounds like maybe the noise was there before I did my lifters but I can't be sure, it sounds a little familiar. I know this is a very vague description, but any help would be greatly appriciated!! If you have any questions that would help define where and what it sounds like ask and I will tell you, I am still learning what to look and listen for when doing all this troubleshooting.

Well videotape the sound and upload it on here, or at least descibe it. First thing that comes to my mind would be your new lash adjusters are defective.
