Lets put some supercars on a track. handling comparison
i have a reason for posting this(though you wont know until later). we all know its been asked which supercar is the fastest and best and wich would you have.
but which is the better handler? with just these cars alone Zonda c12 s 7.3 Mclaren F1 Enzo Carrera Gt koenigseggs ccr put them in your own of what you think would win in a really twisty road coarse

I think the Enzo would be the best one on the track. The CCR might have more power and the F1 might be faster on a straight lane, but the Enzo is basically a Formula 1 car with street license, both curve and parts-wise.
My vote to the Enzo, though I don't like the car generally.

I would have to say the Mcalren F1 for the same reason that Christov said then enzo, because its basically an F1 car put on the street, so its made to maximize all aspects of driving, not just top speed...

Re: Lets put some supercars on a track. handling comparison
The CGT is rumoured to have the edge over the Enzo on tight circuits, but i've seen tests where the Porsche won and tests where the Ferrari won.
I think it would definitely be between those two, though the Zonda is extremely nimble as well. |

My vote would go to the enzo. The F1, though an amazing car, still doesn't have the same handling feel and nimbleness that the enzo has from what I've heard (its definitely close though). The carrera gt is probably the closest competition to the enzo in terms of handling, but I haven't really seen enough track comparisons between the two to tell for sure which is better.
I would really like to see an enzo timed around nurburgring..... |

Re: Lets put some supercars on a track. handling comparison
ok, this is the reason i posted this
if we were to measure handling by pure slalom skidpad and braking this is what the order would be koenigseggs ccr: skidpad 1.30 braking 99ft carrera gt: braking 101ft slalom 73.2 enzo: skidpad 1.05 braking 109ft slalom 71.0 Zonda c12 s 7.3: skidpad 98.g braking 116ft slalom 69.3 mclaren f1: skidpad 86.g braking 127ft slalom 64.5 shall we judge by these tests? according to these numbers a transam can handle better than a mclaren

1) the CGT was extensively tested at the 'ring 2) the Enzo is more suited to smooth tracks, and supposedly bottoms out at the Karussel & other notoriously bumpy parts of the 'ring |

Does the koenigseggs ccr come with slicks from the factory, or is that a mistake? I'm guessing it's the second, probably is 1.03, not 1.3

nope, 1.3 is correct
http://www.koenigsegg.se/thecars/index.asp?submenu=4 look at those numbers. "ooh shit that's fast!" ![]() But I haven't seen any tracktest like Enzo vs CCR vs CGT, would be interesting, especially on such a difficult track like the Nürburgring.

Re: Lets put some supercars on a track. handling comparison
The Nurburgring is too high speed for the comparison we're talking about here.
Also be aware that the McLaren's numbers are artificially low because it uses 10+ year old tire technology. If the cars are totally stock, with stock tires, and using the Hungaroring as a good example of a tight road course, I'd put them as follows: Carrera GT Enzo Koenigseggs ccr The above 3 would be fairly close McLaren F1 Zonda If you put them all on the same type of tire with stock sizes, I would put them as McLaren F1 Carrera GT Enzo Koenigseggs ccr Zonda The more high speed corners the track has, the more likely the Enzo will be to pass the Carrera GT as long as the track is relatively smooth (think Spa, A-1 Ring, or Monza)

Re: Lets put some supercars on a track. handling comparison
a 86g in 1999 is still crap
the corvette was pullling in a 91 or 92 i beleive in 1997 you would think that a supercar like the mclaren would have better tires than a corvette ya know. seems kinda wierd to me

Didn't CAR Magazine compare the McLaren to the CGT and say that the F1 had better handling?
I bet that either that 86g figure is from the 93' when the F1 came out, or is complete crap.
