Boost gauge?

Anyone have any sugestions on which Boost gauge to buy? I'm trying to pump out a little more boost on my lil t-25 untill i get enough (motor wise) for the EVOIII Big 16G i have sitting in my gurage... so naturally i need a gauge that reads pretty high boost levels, also i would really like for it to match the stock gauges, but i cant find any that glow that strange yellow the stock gauges do. also suggestions on the best place to mount the gauge? (A-piller; "cluster dash") and are there any other gauges that i should look into? kinda shoothing for somewhere around the 300hp range...so any advice also would help! Thanks!

Re: Boost gauge?

autometer makes good gauges. get a gauge pod for the A-pillar with either 2 or 3 holes. you'll end up filling it up with other gauges as you want more hp. 300 out of a stock t-25 is pushing it. also you might need to upgrade a few things besides just cranking up the boost.

p.s. you need a manual boost controller if you plan to turn up the boost too, if you don't already have one.

Re: Boost gauge?

I agree with autometer and I wouldnt worry about the gauges matching your stock gauges if your going to get a pillar pod cause they look cool no matter what.
P.S. you have 2 threads about this please delete one.

Re: Boost gauge?

autometer carbon fiber gauges have the same color lights as our car's. i chose to get the cf 30vac/30 boost, cf olectric oil pressure and autometer 2 gauge a-pillar. looks great

i had a buddie change his dash lights to blue. granted it wasn't an eclipse (91 cavalier) but the process should still be the same. you'll need to remove the gauge cluster and pull it apart and replace the bulbs with some blue ones. just make sure you replace only the ones that light up with the lights and not the dash warning lights, or you'll get a different color. (ie, BRAKE light is red with a white bulb behind it, you put a blue bulb behind it and you'll have a purple BRAKE light.

Re: Boost gauge?

I have seen many vac/boost combo guages be inaccurate, or lose accuracy over time. I have also seen poeple upgrade from a 20 psi guage, to a 25, then to a 30, etc. I went with a 0-35 psi (autometer sport comp) 5 years ago, and its still balls on today. Make the right choice the first time, whatever that is in your particular case, so you can move on to bigger and better things.

Re: Boost gauge?

yeah, accuracy is a diffrent story with my cf vac/boost gauge! if you want a blue light, just buy the gauge you want and get a blue bulb. problem solved.

Re: Boost gauge?

Just something you might be interested in:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33682

You got a 35 psi boost (no vac), and two filler gauges for a triple pod. Seems like a good deal.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=38660

The above have a cool blue backlight...check out the link.

Also, you should go to www.speedhut.com. They custom make various gauges, and you decide on everything, from the font to the color you want the gauge to be... they even do custom boost gauges, tachs, and hvac, everything...well worth looking at IMO.
