2003 Yukon CD Player

Greetings to all Yukon owners. The speaker in my 2003 Yukon driver's door developed a crackling sound so I decided to let the dealer replace it right before the 36k mileage warranty. They had to order it and it was over a week before I made it back, therefore, beyond the 36k mileage.
Anyway, Monday, 5/23, they put the speaker in. A cd was left in the cd player. The cd player had been working fine before hand and ejecting CD's without any problem.
Today, 5/24, my wife tried to eject the CD that was put in the player on Sunday, 5/22, and it won't eject. It will play just fine, but when you try to eject it, you get about 8 seconds of clicking (sounds like it is trying to eject but something is blocking it) and then a message telling you to check the CD.
Could this in any way be connected to simply swapping out the speaker? I don't think so, but thought I would check with this forum.
Any other thoughts? Recommendations?

Hi Ken,
nobody will ever know...
This is a toughie, as the dealer had the thing and it was working before and not working after.
And yes, they were working on the stereo.
Try a gentle but firm approach. I would just say that the CD does not eject after they had it and you would like them to correct this. Then be quiet and look at the dealer expectantly and repeat yourself quietly IF necessary. Let the dealer do the rest. This may be a goodwill kind of situation.

I called the dealer today and spoke with the same service writer I dealt with before. No goodwill. He said they didn't touch the radio, only removed and replaced the door speaker.
Could it be a broken belt?
When I look inside the CD slot with a flashlight, I can see two metal strips sticking up vertically, appearing to block the slot. Sounds like the CD is trying to eject but cant, possibly because of these two metal strips. Could it have broken a belt, similar to a VCR? How much trouble would that be to replace?
Has anyone ever taken one out and opened it up to replace a belt?

Ken,
this is the main CD radio, not the remote unit? Plain Theftlock or fancy Bose?
It comes out easily.
Put the tranny in "1", tilt the steering wheel all the way down.
Pull the about 3 foot wide instrument trim panel toward you and and you can just squeeze it past the steering wheel.
Now the radio comes out by depressing the tab ears on the sides.
You can now read the part number and get a replacement on eBay...
(Hopefully just kidding, may be not...)
Shake the thing and / or take it apart.
Or give it to a VCR repair guy and let him check it out.
Or see above about eBay...

Eggert,
After thinking through your first reply, I again called the GMC dealer. This time though, instead of dealing with the service writer, I asked for the Service Manager. He listened and agreed to take care of it under "Goodwill".
When my wife took it in today, they ordered a replacement radio/cd player. Additionally, they replaced the steering shaft b/c he said it had a "klunk" in it, and they had already replaced plenty of them.
Thanks for the good advice. It pays not to be timid----not that I was abusive, because I wasn't---but going to the Service Manager was the right thing to do.
