Question WTF happened?

I had two disposable cameras that each had 27 exposors each. I dropped them off for developing and picked them up a few days later. When looking through the pictures, I didn't see several pictures that I remembered taking. So I counted, each envelope only had 24 pictures in it, when it should have had 27. The thing is I really wanted a couple of those pictures. So why did I not get them?

Re: WTF happened?

It's possible that they did not turn out at all - sometimes if there is nothing visible on the photo they will not include it in the envelope. This happens most often when the flash did not fire when it needed to be used, thus the photo ends up being entirely (or nearly) black.

Your best bet would be to go back to the developer and ask what happened with them.

good call Mark, although usually they WILL include the bad ones anyways, with a sticker on it or something, to avoid this sort of thing happening.

but some places could be different.

Re: WTF happened?

I had this same thing happened once when I went to Washington DC. Apparently it happens lots, especially with shittier digital cameras. I took 108 pictures (4 cameras worth) and literally probably only 40 to 50 were actually even in the envelope. Even some of the ones that were there just plain sucked. And they told me that there was simply no discerning the picture, so that's why they were kept / disposed of.

Yeah, I held them all up to the window and looked thorugh them to see if I could find the missing pix, but they wenr't there either.

The whole thing pisses me off, because out of all those pix the two that I really wanted / was looking forward to seeing were missing.

were they dirty pictures?

Often its the developers discresion whether they are developed or not,

Did you double check the number on each camera to make sure you weren't just mistaken? (I'm fairly sure this isn't the issue)

Were these the last few pictures from the cameras?

sorry to hear you lost 'em,

That was my second thought - did they include nudity, or show any illegal acts? They shouldn't take any photos like that, IMO, but they sometimes will...

at the place I go the envelope has a check box where you have to check if it is a 24 exposure roll, 27 exposure roll, etc. If you check 24 or if you forget to check one they will run it as a 24 exposure roll and not 27 therefore it may be missing the last few pics. maybe something like that happened.
