96' Dodge Intrepid Check Engine Light

I have a 96' Dodge Intrepid and my check engine light is on, I had a diagnostic test done and the code that came back was "Heater", what does that mean. The heat and air conditioning in my car is great.

ok, fist step is to do your own diagnosis. sit in the car, put the key in, then turn the key from the off position, to the run position(not the start position) 5 times within like 10 secconds. After doing this, count the number of flashes from the check engine light. It will flash so many times, pause, then start flashing again, pause, ect. When it is done giving coads it will end with 5 flashes, a pause, and 5 more flashes. Once you get these numbers, you can get an idea of what is giving you the check engine light. If you need help with this, e-mail me at [email protected] Hope I can help you.

Re: 96' Dodge Intrepid Check Engine Light

your car should have OBII by law. govt. pass a law to all auto companies to have this done 95 - 96 and on. For free testing ask any major auto parts store. The PCM (Computer) does not monitor the heater of a/c. The only thing i can think of, is and Oxygen Sensor which some are heated up for quicker feed back since they are not functional untill it really HOT.
