I'm getting counter sued... lol

So I had a thread a week or 2 back where my roommate hit my car. I gave him the 2 $1000 repair quotes, which he gave to his grandpa, who threw a bit of a fit. I think he's mad at ME... (Fuck you for wanting it done right?) And then the kid kept complaining about having to pay it. "I can get a bumper online for $80!!", "This car isn't even WORTH that much!", "Aren't you getting a NEW bumper ANYWAYS!?" and my personal favorite, after i told him sorry if I didn't trust an $80 used ebay bumper, "well if you buy it from Toyota it's just gonna be used anyways!"

Whatever...

After every chunk of bullshit he slung me, I'd rebuttle it and then just say "Hey, if you didn't want to pay for it, you shouldn't have hit it." And of course, he can't say anything to that. I said just cut me a check and this will go away. He's like "No, Ill get you the parts and you just give me the bill for the labor and I'll pay THAT." I told him that's not the way it was going to work. I guess his grandfather has to pay for it so he says "You're just going to use the money for something else, and that's not going to fly with my grandpa." I told him what does he care what in the world I use the money for; he's still spending it.

So now I'm thinking he doesn't want to pay, so I told him that was fine, just to give me his insurance information and he wouldn't have to pay anything. He didn't want to do that. Then was like "well the insurance company isn't just going to cut you a check!" I told him to let me worry about that. And I won't have his grandfather try and bog me down for over a month so I can't file the claim. So to cover my ass, because it looked like he didn't want to pay, I went and filed a delayed police report. He got pissed about that and MOVED OUT. And still has to pay rent, rofl... So then while I'm filing the report he tells my best friend if I take him to court over it that he was going to counter-sue me... for what? rofl, for shooting him with a bb gun. when he was shooting at me, FIRST... And the shot, that hit him in the cheek, (not the eye, not chipped his tooth, not hit his left ball sack and rendered his dumb ass impotent, the CHEEK)... it did no damage whatsoever. Didn't even leave a bruise. I laughed when my best friend told me. Some people, I swear to god. So tonight I'm going to talk to his grandfather. You know, I feel bad about taking money from his grandparents because they're good people, but he shouldn't have done it. But I really don't think I'm gonna fold on the cost either. I shouldn't have to. so I find out the kid wasn't just talking bullshit because he was pissed. He actually tried to blackmail me, saying he would press charges on me for the bb gun thing. I asked him where his proof was and who in the world would testify in his favor? All the people that were there would stand for me in court until the cows came home. He didn't know what to say so he hung up. Hes STILL going to try to use this against me when I go talk to them tonight. He's trying to tell me we're 'even'.

Whenever it comes to own money people think "well sinces its not a bank, I'll take my time."

not know that if they are willing to work with you, you are actually be cutting them slack. Oh yeah so what if you spend it on something else....he would have done the same thing. HE should have never hit it in the first place.

your friend sounds like a whiney lil douche-bag. he fucked up, he should own up to it. like you said, if he didn't wanna be paying for repairs he should have been more careful and not hit your car.

Thought that would happen. Time to go to the insurance company. If his grandparents won't give you the insurance information, report it to your company along with his license plate number. If you have collision on your car, your company will fix it then go after him and his company to collect -- and get back your deductible too.

Werd. Kid's just bitching. doesn't wanna pay and thinks he can threaten his way out of it. His grandparents are bailing him out anyways, just like they always do. He doesn't care and won't change. It's no strain on his paycheck. Dumb kids... I'm talking to his grandfather tonight. Who tried last night for the brief time that we talked, to once again convince me to buy a $79 ebay bumper and have kid there help me put it on ourselves. I kind of chuckled and told him we'd work on it tonight.

Heh, tried suggesting that in the original post. But Mr. Responsible, who crashed into Cyprus' car, said he'd pay by last Saturday.
