check this out
this forum is a joke! to the powers that be, i've been browsing this site every now and again for the last 10 months or so. it seems that you put more effort into locking down threads because they are over the time limit from the date they began or when a newbie comes in and asks a question that might have been answered in a similar thread months back. it is pretty pathetic that i could stop by here after a month has passed from my last visit and see less new threads in months time than i do on other diecast sites in just a day. it just seems like you want to lock threads more than you want to help a fellow hobbyist.
i have seen a few interesting threads on certain cars that were from a few months back and don't see the harm in making a new reply to that particular thread.i remember someone asking a thread starter where he got a set of wheels that he had on a car shown in a thread and the thread was locked because it was started a few months prior. the thread starter possibly no longer browsed the forums or simply didn't get time to reply before the thread was locked. if the thread remained open, i could have replied to that person because i knew where the person had purchased the wheels from. also, if the thread remained open, others could have obtained the same information if they were interested in the wheels as well. this is a prime example of how it seems you are not interested in helping the fellow enthusiest. i am amazed that you continue to run this site because of its lack of activity. why bother? i could see the need to lock threads if the same question was asked by different members daily or even weekly but lets face it, this boars sees as much activity as 10 population town in bumbfuk alaska. take my advice for what it's worth but if you would like to make this forum grow and be prosperous then you know what you need to do. Re: check this out
Actually I've got some good input on my real cars here. I've seen some good and bad work here as well. Thing is everyone seems to offer constructive critique. I enjoy giving it, and it being taken to heart and used. It seems a lot of the folks at the art site are quite a bit younger than I. So there's a generation gap. I like the older stuff as you can see if you take time to look at my posts. They don't generate a lot of comments but do seem to be viewed quite a bit. I personally don't like to see posts drop off the board in an hour. Like "MC" said. There's a lot of boards out there maybe you want to find one that's up to your speed? Lets see 8 posts in since 11/04 hardly a position for criticism... me thinks
![]() Read some of your posts as well. Have to agree with you about the Kleen Cut Aircraft Stripper. The best stuff I've found for the price. I'm an impatient SOB. If you are really wanting to help out that guy about the wheels e-mail him. Last edited by ClearHooter; 05-24-2005 at 02:48 PM. |

Re: check this out
Rules are rules, its the way it is in every other forum on this board. I dont usually close threads that were resurected with meaning. But replying in a several month old thread saying "that looks cool" is completely pointless and wastes a lot of peoples time. I dont know about you, but I dont enjoy reading the same thread I read a few months earlier, unless it was an excellent thread. Its old news. Plus many times the author has left the board, and makes the point of replying of less value.
If you think this forum is a joke you may take your opinions that dont make for the better of this forum elsewhere.

Re: check this out
BAN!!! Why do assholes even bother to post about how shitty they think a forum is on that forum? If you don't see that much activity in the diecast or any section, why don't you help out and post useful things instead of this bullshit?

Re: check this out
getting a reply or not depends on how you asked the question and ur attitude or contribution towards the forums up to that point. if ur a newbie, at the same time, just lazy and asked easy questions repeatedly, then ur not gonna get any reply.
when ever (if ever) i asked for help in any forum. i would respect the forum's policy by browsing the FAQ first then i would mention my effort of trying into my question. some pics of the item(s) im searching for or the similar would be helpful to others trying to help me. by doing this you would definitely get a response. if not then those ppl on that forum might not know shet. either case nobody should lock ur thread cuz it’s all good. hope that helps …good luck crday98 ! |

2. there is a reason for my 8 posts since 11/04, i have stated why today. just because i haven't posted frequently doesn't mean i haven't browsed enough to see what is going on. 3. the aircraft stripper is the chit isn't it? \4. if the thread didn't get locked for him asking, i could have simply replied and that post and it would have been left there for other members to see as well. now they can view a locked thread and try contacting the thread starter only to get no response because the thread starter no longer comes to this forum therefore no one will never know where to get the wheels. had it remained open, they could get the answer to their question. tytgs300, i have seen two threads where a member asked a simple question. now they could have done hours of reading after using the search feature to find the exact answer to his question or he could start a new thread and had his answer shortly. to sum it up, his thread got locked and i believe the moderator's response was something like "use the search idiot" or the response was simpleton directions of how to use the search feature. hmm, where is the professionalism? is giving a childish response like that really helping someone or is it going to make others who stop by and see that response want to be part of this forum? i think not! you wish me luck?? i think you people are the ones who need the luck. i belong to plenty of "helpful" forums where the mods act like adults and talk with people are willing to help among the many other good things those sites have going for them. i am not bashing the members of this site, just the those who control it. if it works for you, then more power to you.GTmike400, you may not see the point of reading a thread from months back but others might. i thought this forum was here for its members, not the mods. you stated that many times the author has left the board, and makes the point of replying of less value. well, i listed a prime example of its value above in my response #4 to ClearHooter. ![]() also, lets be real, it isn't like you have to worry about flood control with the amount of threads in this forum for a need to lock them is there? blubaja, my thread may seem like a bitching session and maybe partially so but the real point of my thread is to bring my thoughts to the attention of those in charge so it could possibly improve this forum. i have listed the reasons why i have chose to go elsewhere. it would be nice to see this forum grow to the level of other forums i browse but i guess it isn't looking good. like i said, take my advice for what it's worth. i wish you all the best.

Re: check this out
Hey man,
Sorry I was harsh be4. Had a rough afternoon. I agree tho that the diecast section needs more attention. Some people wander over to teh modeling section with their stuff every once in a while, then they get chased back here. lol...But stopping by there for tips is a good idea, since some of it can relate to diecast too. Please try not to trash this forum tho. It seems liek you tried to help, but did sound like bitching abit. I appologize agian if I was rough. Frank X. |
