Friend Needs Help

Hey All, how's everyone doing?
Got a question for you guys. My friends' car a '91 Eclipse Turbo (don't know the whole history about it at the moment) is having issues boosting. He says it won't boost what's so ever. I don't know what he did to it but I recommended he check all his connections, including all the hoses. I'm not to familiar with Turbos but that was the only answer I could give him at the time. Hopefully, it was a helpful one.
Thanks in advance for the help.

What gauge is he using to determine how much boost he's getting? Hopefully an aftermarket one. If there's no boost at all, check all the hose fittings, as you said. Including the hose fitting to your aftermarket gauge If everything looks in order, pressure test the system to check for leaks. Info on how to do this can be found at vfaq. Also, like urban squrill said, your wastegate could be stuck. I would check those three things in that order. Get back to us with how it goes

A list of other sites worth visiting can be found on the sticky at the top, called "Read Me First."

Let us know how it goes.

Re: Friend Needs Help

He still hasn't checked to see what the problem with the car is. But I have a question, he says it's a 91 turbo eclipsed. He said he sapped the motor for a 2.0 GST. Is that possible??
