turbo boost
i've got a question, even though aftermarket chip gets you up to 16psi but can stock turbo handle it? and adding 40hp from the chip is pretty much raising the turbo boost right? can't you do that by getting a boost controller instead? also, from 96 to 99 A4's, which year is the best choice?

well if you looking for a 1.8T then you can rule out the 96, they didnt start making A4s with the 1.8Ts until 97.

Re: turbo boost
despite the fact that the ecu is very finicky and will probably throw you into limp if it reads that much boost.... if you simply got a boost controller..you would not have the added fuel or proper timing req'd..

Re: turbo boost
if u go with apr you can get diffrent prograns for the chip.... you can put it in chiped mode which will make it have the extra preforeamns and then if u want you can then set it back to stock settings with a button

Re: turbo boost
nah.... i really dont think longevity is affected.. the only reason these cars are only running 7psi stock is to knock the hp down so that audi coudl sell the more expensive 2.8

More boost = more problems.. Going with a chip is the best way. But put on the basic bolt ons first and make sure your maintenence is up to date before chipping it. (plugs, fuel filter, cai, exhaust, Timingbelt/tensioner. )
