My 1993 Spirit Won't Start

Ok, hope someone can help!

1993 Dodge Spirit 2.5L. The car was running fine. I've driven it all winter with no issues, and I just drove it from Toronto to New Jersey.

Today I was out driving and everything was fine. Got out for about 10 minutes, came back and tried to start it and all I got was a click. I had the car towed home and now I need to decide what to do.

My first assumption would be that the starter is toast. Where is the starter located? I tried jumping the car and nothing, I just here the starter solenoid clicking.

The car has never had starting issues before.

Any help is appreciated.

Unless the battery just went bad, it's the starter.

if your battery's ok, try replacing the starter solenoid, those go bad all the time.

Re: My 1993 Spirit Won't Start

this is what my wife said happened...no adverse signs of pending problem..started fine, drove fine,no lights bells or whistles came on.got to town with absolutly no problem signs, turned onto a street and it was like she had just turned off the ignition, there was no shaking or rumbling or anything.thought it was the fuel pump.replaced that, nope that wasn't it.took out the sensor and looks like one of the metal sections was fried, like a power surge or something caused it to just go kaput.any ideas?thanks
