do it to atleast 70lbs of torque, maybe 80 or 85.....
I usually do all of them in the 90-100 range, thats about what my air impact gun does when it starts hammering them in and stops moving. Torque Wrenches? We don't need no stinking torque wrenches i work at a tranny shop, I've used a torque wrench one time and that was to verify my gun torqued a heavy ass flywheel on a turbo diesel down to 100 ft lbs. just tighten stuff down sercure, don't tighten the shit out of it. Pretty much everything you can do hand tight with a 3/8 ratchet is good enough on most shit... I'd use a torque wrench on that flywheel still and give it a good 80lbs-90lbs per FOOT just because you don't know how much to tighten down to get to that torque rating. |
