Question a/c compressor

My compressor continues to click(run) on my 1998 intepid. Just got it serviced and filled. When I turn on the a/c the compressor clicks non- stop. This also randomly causes the engine to surge even at stop lights!!(dangerous) What could be causing this problem?
Thanks!

Re: a/c compressor

This is a Nissan Xterra forum, not an Intrepid forum...

Good luck.

It sounds like it's short cycling to me. Make sure whoever serviced it put refrigerant in it. Compressors usually short cycle when there is low pressure.
