I have a 93 Mercury Grand Marquis and since I changed the front rotors and pads sometimes when I apply the breaks there is a humming noise then the breaks lock and the pedal comes up off the floor pushing on my foot. Some people say it's the anti lock. I don't know what to do. Other than that the car runs great. It doesn't happen after the car warmes up.
Any ideas? |

Re: break pedal pushing up off the floor
I'd try bleeding the brakes as the first thing.

If you compressed the calipers when you did the brakes and did not bleed them with a STAR tool attached, all bets are off. Ford ABS brakes do all kinds of crazy stuff. Try this. With the motor running, open all four bleeder screws and have someone put the pedal to the floor and hold it while you close the screws. Refill the brake fluid and repeat. Refill and road test it. That usually does it.
