Question Question about brake pads, will pads for '96-'98 fit on a '99-'00

I recently found an excellent groupbuy deal on some Axxis Metal Master brake pads. Upon inquiring about them, the host of the buy informed me that the pads for the '96-'98 Civics won't fit on my '00 Civic. He told me that I can get a set of AEM pads that he also sells, as they make pads that would fit my car, and that Axxis only makes pads for as new as a '98 Civic. The AEM pads he sells says they will wor on '96-'00 Civics, so if the AEM pads will work on all 5 years of the 5th gen, then wouldn't the Axxis pads work for all 5 years of the 6th gen as well? I'd prefer to get the Axxis pads, partly because they are a cheaper price than the AEM, and to my understanding, the AEM pads are more like the OEM Nissins that are one my car now, while the Axxis Metal Masters are more similar to EBP pads, than OEM. WHich pads are better? I want something with low dust content, as well as increased stopping power than my stock pads.

Cool deal, I dunno if I'd want fast wearing pads, that Axxis are made to last pretty long I hear, but damnit they don't make it for my car. I emailed the guy back, and he told me with the Axxis pads, it's a clearance issue, as the pad unit is thicker on the '96-'98 Civics, so it wouldn't fit on my car due to that. Kinda sucks. There is a sweet buy on some slotted/dimple drilled rotors on sale for $50/rotor on GBC right now, I think I'm gonna get a pair of those, and then figure out if I want the AEM pads, or just drop an extra $20 and get EBC Green Stuff. But yeah, when you get your new pads on, let me know how they feel comparibly.

i'm concerned about thoe slotted/dimple rotors... what brand are they? i got brembo for their reputable products... you don't want a set of rotors that will crack or warp easily.... besides you can get brembos for about 59 each

The cross drilling is what makes the rotors weak -- ive seen cracked Brembos before -- which is why spoon FORGES their rotors instead of drilling, makes them a ton stronger, and since you arent drilling through the "dimple" rotors -- you arent weakening them by anything you would have to worry about. Ive got a pair coming to me and should arive next week -- im excited!

mine haven't cracked yet so i'm still happy,
besides that you have to know what meterials they used to make the rotors... if they used some crappy as steel, i wouldn't put them on ya know?

I doubt they would be worse than the OEM rotors, which BTW are Brembos. And like mentioned, dimpling rather than cross-drilling, is a better for the rotors, but Brembo aftermarket rotors (for our cars at least) are bad, because they cross drill them AFTER the rotor is made, which makes them weak, whereas with the Brembo systems on Porsche, Lamborghini, and Ferrari to name a few, the rotors on those cars are MADE with the cross drilled holes in them. If they make the rotors with the holes already in them, then they will hold up MUCH better than if they drill them after the fact.
