Hey Gents,
Just an FYI, had my Transmission serviced at a Non Dealership on Friday. Fluid, Filter and Power Flush. Shifts smoother now, no problems, leaks or concerns. An Added bonus it only cost $134 CAN to have the service done. I could have done it myself but, trans Jobs are always so messy, I just thought I'd let somebody else do it; that and I don't have time to do it these days. Just thought I'd pass on the good news as so many others of you have had some horror stories with getting your Tranny serviced. I must admit I was leary about turning the key when I jumped in after the service but, these guys must have known what they were doing... Cheers Evan

My local chevy dealer has the tranny flush for $117, I'm thinking of having them do it too. I just bought the tuck and it has 91000 miles on it, so I'm servicing what I can so I have piece of mind. I've always had clutches in my trucks, so am new to automatic transmissions. I have heard concerns that the flush will free up all kinds of crap in the transmission and cause poblems.

I've heard that too but, so far so good and this way if I have any problems I can back to them on it. The truck has 125000 KMs and I don't know when it was serviced last so, now this way I have piece of mind.

Re: Automatic Trans Serviced
I had the tranny done at the dealer. 30K mile service. No problems whatsoever. Smooth sailing before, smooth sailing after.
Glad to hear you're experiencing the same. |

Re: Automatic Trans Serviced
I just changed my fluid and filter at 55,000miles. The way I have always heard it, is to not change the fluid on a vehicle above 150,000miles. Unless you know for a fact that it has been changed before.

Re: Automatic Trans Serviced
I changed mine at 90,000 kilometres, when I added the transmission cooler and the extra capacity pan......I also used Royal Purple fluid....
