fan problem

the only time my fan come's on is when the AC is on. this would cause overheating while im driving at 20-30. but when i got about 40-50 it cools down. but when its really hot outside (like 80-100) it dosnt cool down till i go about 50-60. could someone help me on this.

camaros are designed to run hot. the fan should come on at around 210 degrees F.

but it gets to about 220, and untill recently it got up to about 230. which i dont think thats normal.

yah mine gets around 150-160 on a average day sometime she'll get real hot but then cools right down. Some ppl get cooler themstates to keep um cool. Its a fairly cheap part.

your fan switch thing that's screwed into the engine block is bad. replace that and you should be fine.

Yeah sounds like you need to replace the coolant sensor. The ecm controls fan. Should come on around 215. The coolant sensor is near the T-stat housing.

Mine does the same thing. Especially when it's 80-100 degrees outside.
It's normal,the fan will come on. I had a mechanic check it out and he said it's normal. GM just wanted to run these cars hot.
Try making an cold air intake, That will help some. That's what I did.
