GTA Victim needs help with Interchange Questions

Hey, guys. I'm a recent victim of Grand Theft Auto in which my car was stolen for parts. I got it back, but they fucked it all up. Now I have to buy a few new parts to even make it run again, and I'd like to find some off of the trader or some other online source of used parts from cars that people are parting out. Problem is, a few of these parts were electronic in nature, and without numbers from my parts, I don't know if what I'm going to be getting will be identical to what I had on there. Furthermore, I don't know if it would even matter to begin with. I just don't want to put electronic parts on my car that are going to make it run wrong or not at all. So, I was wondering if you guys could help me out with some interchange problems.

Anyway, my major concerns are with two relays. One is the Alternator Relay that mounts in the fuse box under the hood on the passenger's side toward the front of the car. The relay in question mounts in the slot on the front driver's side corner (lower right corner, when looking at the fusebox from above) of the fusebox. I can supply a picture if need be. The other is the little box that mounts near the ECU underneath the console. I think this thing is called the electronic fuel injection relay. Can anyone verify if that is in fact what this thing is called for me? It's about 1.5" X 2" X 2.5", or something like that.

Anway, my car is a 1991 Talon Tsi FWD 2.0L Turbo. I need to know if anyone can tell me what the numbers are for the original parts from my car, and if they can be interchanged with other numbers from similar cars. Are they different for AWD or for non-turbo? You know, stuff like that. If anyone is an expert on this, I'd appreciate their help.

Another question I have is about the throttle body. They messed that thing up, too. I'm pretty sure that they're interchangeable from 1991 to 1994, but that 1990 is different. Is that correct?

I thank you in advance for any help you can give. By the way, if you want to view may ad on the trader, check out the following link:

Thanks

Re: GTA Victim needs help with Interchange Questions

Is it the voltage regulator that you mean? If so the OEM part# is md611565. And if it's the fuel control module that you need the OEM part# is md145903, or if you live in california it's part # md145902. This is a very expensive part, it's listed @ $1175. You are correct about the throttle body, the 90 is a different part# compared to 91-94.

You guys aren't going to believe this... they got my car again. So, now I have no car at all. And, to be honest, I really don't think that I'm going to get it back again this time. So, it looks like I'm out of the DSM market for a while.

So, now I'm car shopping. I was really, really attached to my car. It was a very well-maintained black cherry 1991 Eagle Talon TSi FWD 2.0L Turbo. I wouldn't mind finding another one of those, or maybe a 2g Talon. Tell you what, if you know anyone out there selling a Talon from 1991 or from 2g (no 1992-1994... I hate those headlights!!), have them drop me a line.

I'd especially like to find one that someone has blown the timing belt on. I have the experience and the resources to fix that problem. If anybody fits this profile or knows someone who does, let me know. Hell, for that matter, the car doesn't even have to be a 1991 or 2g if the head is blown. I'll consider fixing any DSM... if the price is right!!

Thanks guys. I look forward to hearing from you. Email me direct at [email protected].
