Re: turn signals all out ?

99.9% positive it the Flasher. Go out anyway dude. use your hazards or hand signals yeah! I drove around for 2 months w/ mine out.

94-97 flashers were located behind your lighter sockets, inside the dash. And im not sure about 98+ or any thing prior. Best way to find it. Your hazards and signal flashers are next to eachother, well best case senario. turn on your hazards and listen for the tick. Flasher is like 6 bucks at a parts store. have fun

hi Extreem1 flasher u say ? is it a 1 pc part ? can you descibe it is must be electrical i guess . if i don't get ot fixed this afternoon , then i have to drive my 97 supersport camaro in rain 4 the 1st time in it;s life eh boy!. Also, when i would turn on the turn signals while they worked it seemed like they had a little play in them and would kick on my bright lights for a 1 billionth of a second [ only noticeable at night] ok late and time for bed thanks so much if it is the flasher!

Re: turn signals all out ?

does your multi switch still engage and disengage when you go around a corner. If not then its a pain to fix that. But if it still engages when you go to flip on your signal and it kicks back out when your turn is complete then its probably the flasher. The flasher, unless its been replaced, is a small circular, shinny aluminum object. You pull it out w/ plyers or whatever you can get in there. there pretty well stuck in there so dont be afraid when it doesnt want to come out with ease. make sure you test your hazards. The one that controls your hazards will tick as normal and you can feel that one tick. pull the other one that doesnt!

Re: Re: turn signals all out ?

The one i got was clear. I went to advance auto. its was like 6 bucks. as long as the prongs are the same it doesnt matter what type you put in. just get a quality one so you dont have to do it for a long time. i think mine was a three prong but im not for sure. just bring in your old one and tell them 2 match it up.

The multiswitch fried on mine (Bravada, but shouldn't be any different) a little over a year ago. I tried replacing the flasher first, but no luck. It is black, rectangular, hidden behind the glovebox, and costs about $12 at the dealer. Didn't work. Ended up replacing the multiswitch and problem went away. I think the part was somewhere around the $150 at Autozone. Lot better than the $300+ the dealer quoted.

Re: Re: turn signals all out ?

Black rectangular electronic w/ 4 prongs should be a relay. Keep looking for the flasher. they look just like that pic above. Usually gm puts both flashers next to eachother, hazards and signals. Its the first thing to go out. go 2 advance and ask them for the flasher for your specific truck. The manuals suck, they dont tell you specific locations. Just gotta pull it all apart and figure it out. If it ends up being the multi switch, like he said go 2 the parts store the dealers price is gonna be alot higher.

Re: Re: Re: turn signals all out ?

Well, mine is a 99, and the flasher is a black unit, rectangular, with several prongs on it - don't remember how many. It's behind the glovebox. Perhaps they changed the location from earlier years. I thought the same thing when they gave me the part, but they were correct.
