well, I listen to deferent type of music, but I listen the most to rap music.
What I’m looking for is good SQ and I could order any thing from the internet, and my budget is $1800 but I could increase my budget to $2100. Or I could wait till I get some more money to get better sound system if the money I have is not enough. |

Re: what shoule I get?
For $1,800 you could build a nice system for SQ that'd still get you a decent thump for rap (it's not my thing, but hey, whatever you like). Keep in mind that it won't shake windows 3 blocks down the street- but you don't want that anyway, because the assholes that do that can't hear their music anyway, and are driving themselves deaf.
I'm a BIG fan of Crutchfield's because they sell good shyte, and have all the adapters and crap you could shake a stick at. Free support and install guides aren't bad either. Follow the link and click on "what fits my car" and it'll walk you through what will fit your car (i guess that's redundant). I don't know what you want from a head unit, but I'll assume CD, with auxilary inputs and outputs. For my money, I would go with this Blaupunkt model. It has 3 sets of outputs (front, rear, subs) and auxilary inputs. It doesn't list an FM sensitivity, but meh, who needs FM with sattelite radio or CDs, or ipod, or whatever. Auxilary inputs rock ![]() For your front speakers, get components- these will dramatically help your stereo imaging, and give you a big boost in the mid levels as well. Polk is a great choice, and those speakers are well worth it. Rear speakers are good too... these Kickers should add a lot of low-end grunt without even adding a sub yet! Oh, you need power for those speakers, the amp in the head unit will NEVER be enough. Hmm, more Blaupunkt... 75 watts RMS, CEA-2006 compliant, that should but some roxxor in your boxxor. Add power wires, speaker wires, and some sound padding, and you should be golden. give that a try before you add the sub, you might be surprised how much you get out of a well designed 4-speaker system ![]() okay, you still want the sub? Get another of the Blaupunkt amps like you have for your door speakers. Wire them down to 2-channel, 200w/ch. 200 watts doesn't sound like much, but remember you aren't trying to deafen yourself, nor destroy your alternater! This Polk sub will make good use of that 200 watts. a sealed box volume of .66 cu. ft., and a ported box volume of 1.25 cu. ft. means you can build one of each type into the sashes in the sides of your hatch or trunk, and they won't take up space. you'll have the hard hit and SQ of the sealed sub, and the larger "boom" of the ported sub- best of both worlds. Your total cost (not including wires, sound dampening, box build costs, and Shit I Have Forgotten: $1209.93. With everything else, you'll still be under $1800 bucks easy. Trust me, this system WILL rock out. It'll sound GREAT no matter what you're listening to- and YOU will be the ones hearing it, not the peopel in the next car or the house next to you. I built something like this for a friend, and we opted not to go with the sub- with the 6x9s in the rear and some sound dampening, there was a lot of bass to begin with! If you think i'm full of shit, because your stock speakers and stereo distort, keep in mind- your speakers are probably paper cones, and couldn't handle the power your head unit is putting out, which is only probably 10 watts. We're talking about 75watts RMS a channel... significantly louder, cleaner, heaver tones. well... just my anyway.

Re: what shoule I get?
Well, what I would do in your car would be to put as much work into the front setup as I would with the subs. The reason is that you stated that you are looking for SQ and the way to get there is have mids/highs that complement your subs.
I am a Directed Audio man. You know, those that make Viper and Clifford alarms? I'd go with 2 sx 12" subs in a ported box about 2.75 to 3.25 cu/ft with a rectangle port tuned to 38hrz. Those to be ran off a D1200 amp (be better if you can afford the d2400). Then you should get csx650 6.5" componet sets to be ran off an a502 amplifier. For a head unit, look for anything that's got decent responce with many adjustments for sound. I love the higher end JVC and Pioneer stuff for the money but Eclipse is an even better unit. The Eclipse can take you over your limit alone. I did this setup for a local kid and he was estatic over how well it sounded. For the time being, he just bought a cheapo Pioneer from Walmart but it sounded great. I guess his buddies liked it because now they're hanging around the shop. You should be able to find a dealer near you at www.directed.com if not, PM me.
