I need to replace the belt in my 1993 Oldsmobile 88, I need to know how tight the belt has to be and how do you adjust the belt tension

You don't adjust the tensioner, it's got a spring in it and it's all done by itself. If it's loose, it's worn out you replace it for 50 bucks or so, don't try taking it apart or you'll have a spring with a lot of energy coming at you.
