clearing trouble codes 2002 grand caravan
My check engine light came on, I got the code and found the problem. I fixed the problem and now need to clear the trouble code and check engine light. How do I go about doing that? Thanks..

Re: clearing trouble codes 2002 grand caravan
Welcom to ODB II (1996+ cars). You used to be able to reset codes in prior years by simply disconnecting the battery or turning the ignition key on-off 50 times. In todays ODBII cars, the computer is designed to remember old codes and manage the CES light coming on or off. The power failure trick won't reset the codes. Old codes must age out.
You can try simulating 50-100 ignition starts (on-off without starting the car) to see if that method still works or try disconnecting the battery for a very long time (hours). |
