camshaft breakage

I think my 94 Grand Prix has to be put out of it's misery. I was told I have a broken camshaft, possibly a cracked block. I'm looking at a $2200 repair. I can't afford that. I don't even think the car is worth that. Has anyone else experienced any of the same problems? Mine is a 94 Grand Prix with 138,000 miles.

Re: camshaft breakage

You don't say what size engine your car had but if the rest of the car is in good shape you can probably find a good used engine from a wrecking yard and have someone put it in for you for less than $1200.
