tps sensor

hey sup guys i just bought my b16 and the tps sensor was broken so i took the tps sensor from the old intake manifold that i had. I took the sensor off the new motor and replaced it with this old one. Now once in a while not all the times this just happends out of no where im at a stop light and i step on the throtle to take off normal and once the rpm hits 3k rpm the rpm just drops to 1k then back to 3k and so on and so on it looks like i dont know how to drive stick lol this only happends when u hold the throttle steady if im not on the gas pedal or if im florring it this problem happends me and the friends think its the tps sensor what do u guys think??? and if it is how can i adjust it??? thanks for yur help

** it dosent happend if im flooring it or if im off the gas only when i hold it steady

Im having the same problem with my integra its driving me crazy when you find out what it is please post it so i can fix this thing .if i fix mine first ill let you know thanks

I have an update for ya man get your map sensor checked out mine is spiking like crazy its very expensive 180.00 so you might want to pick up a used one and give it a try

thing is that it does this sometimes not all the times man this is getting on my nerves

Did you ever adjust your TPS sensor? It doesn't just bolt in; the screw holes are actually slots so there is a little bit of adjustment. To adjust it, simply hook a good voltmeter up to it: the positive terminal goes to the middle wire (I think it is red) and the negative goes to a ground somewhere. Just adjust it until it reads 0.5 volts at warm idle. I've acually heard a couple of different voltages to try, but 0.5 seems to work for me.

The symptoms you write about definately indicate the TPS is out of wack.

Ok the throttle position sensor on my car is in perfect working condition and reads perfect on the scope at the dealership and my car is doing the same thing so dont go out and buy a new tps until u get ur map sensor tested man even though it seems like the tps mine is fine im waiting for my map sensor to get here in the mail if it works ill let ya know man later
