carbonfiber

me and a buddy of mine were tossing around some ideas to make my car lighter has anyone ever heard of a carbon fiber undercarrage is it even possible?

Undercarrage? Do you mean the subframes? The tiny bit of weight you would save wouldn't even come close to the insane price you would have to pay. Anything is possible with enough money though. Also I would constantly be worried about vibrations and jolts from the drivetrain and suspension causing cracks or fractures in the parts. Honestly don't worry about trying to lighten the MKIII too much when you can simply add more rubber under the car and more power under the hood. You are only going to get down to 3000lbs or so and the more weight you remove the more uncomfortable the car becomes.

ok thanks for the advice now that i got rid of my old mkIII for a hardtop with 109,000 miles on it and far less problems im going to rly start moding my car so i need all the advice i can get
