Transmission Wooes.

I have a 98 5spd 4x4 and the transmission was stuck in 5th. The shop called me today and told me that my 5th gear was fused to the output shaft. Does anyone know if there have been any recalls on this?

Secondly, do I have to use an isuzu clutch? they are going for $475 which seems REALLY steep.

thanks

Re: Transmission Wooes.

never heard of this. And nope you don't have to use an Isuzu clutch. I know of a couple guys who go to Moab (which the Isuzu event is ongoing right now) that have replaced theirs with aftermarket units.

Re: Transmission Wooes.

Any idea of which aftermkt clutch will work? The guy looked at my clutch and told me that most clutches push something into the plate, where as he thinks that this one pulls? that didnt make sense to me...Am I not getting something or was he just wrong?
