Alright so im going down one of the usual streets that I cruise around in and notice this 3rd gen Maro coming out of the Kroger abit fast, well I try to catch up after seeing the RS badge and think "Easy kill" because I was guessing v6, well I go next to it at a light and he asks me "Wanna race?" With this smile on his face.
Me: "What year?"
Guy:"92"
Me:"V6"
Guy:"Haha, no, V8" *Revs engine*
Me:"Alright.."
So now im thinking, SHIT, just had to be an 8! Im gunna get fing OWNED! So I turned up the music, playing T.I's Motivation song. light turns green, we go.

We both got awesome take offs, no chirps and I start just walking away, then as we hit 40, we both do a left turn, and he's in the inside lane, now me having the Monte with front wheel drive, I do it perfectly and also since I have a crapload of experience about taking fast turns . I see him in my left side mirror, having his back slide like I expected because he looked like he just got it. We go to another stop light and have another race, same results I beat him to the next light.

So here I am now, totally thinking "What the hell" I mean yeah it was an RS, V8 according to him, and him having either around 170 or 215 if it was a TPI. but either way 10 Hp isnt much difference and I totally expected him to win. So now I dont know if to get that Z28 that a user was selling or not, after seeing how badly that RS lost to me im kinda now discouraged about buying another 3rd gen.

Raced a RS V8 twice and won.

RS had a 305, quite possibly a TBI, which I would except you to win against.

Yeah but like I said, 170 hp. 10 HP isnt much of a difference.

That's kinda odd...what's the horsepower and torque on your Monte.

ill be getting some fools by the end of the year after the new ls1 gets swaped into my baby. ill make sure to get bright red rs badges on it so people will think just like u did...oh look a v6 i can rape...then ill turn into the gimp and do the rapeing myself...lol

Alright my Monte is not an SS, base model. HP/TQ 180/200-220 (Cant remember) I dont know the 1/4 times also I knew RS came in V8s but I wasnt expecting this one to be one because of the year it was, but I knew some RS are V8s. (In case people didnt know the 92 Rally Sport camaros were the base coupe) Also I dont feel bad, I just am wondering how come he didnt win, I thought that 3rd gens were really cool even though they had a some weak tbi v8s.

but rs92, i had the same type of car that he did, they really are dogs... incredibly slow, if u get another third gen u need to get a tpi... or u should just put an ls1 in urs...

good torque, crappy HP.

TPI would only be 190 hp...only the 85's had 215. And the later dual cat 305 TPI's had 230.
TBI throttle response is nowhere near what a TPI has and the suspension isn't nearly as good either.

if u leave it stock... its not hard to make tpi cars really fast... they respond well to mods

Yeah I think im actually just going to go with an Ls1 and not another 3rd gen.
