|
Pulling my motor.
I have decided that scince their is so much metal shavings in my head and I was told that it was probly in my bearings and the whole motor is gone. That I am just gunna pull the motor, to get ready for buying a used long block from a junkyard. I am going to be doing this by my self(or as much as I can) after work and such. I have helped pull motors before(honduh's). I have a chilton. And wondering if you guys have any tips for me?

No just put in a used stock long block. Then after I fix it i am going to sell it. Then its either a 2g gsx or 4g63/4g64 hybrid Mighty Max(truck).

its easy to swap a direct swap. i swapped a motor and im a youngen lol.

tip #1:
when taking out the flywheel to torque converter bolts....take off the bottom cross brace (2 bolts on radiator support, 2 bolts on motor mount, and 1 bolt near center pivot) it should just swing around so that you can get at the flywheel bolts better. tip #2: disconnect fuel line before pulling out motor tip #3: remove crankshaft belt pulley before taking out motor. it goes 100x smoother without it on there.

I have a full set of tools, airtools, and I can probly barrow my friends hoist that connects into the trailer hitch of a truck. What am I gunna need for the swap? Parts wise.(timing belt?)
