audio
I have a limited bugdet and I dont know too much about audio. All I know is that RMS is the actual power. I was thinking of getting two Kicker Comp 10's with a box, they each run 150 RMS or whether to get one Comp VR 10 inch which has 300RMS. Also, what amp could i use because I wanted to go with a rockford b/c of the bass control, but which would be best for giving me maximum watts to either of the sub options. I also have a factory deck, it is a 2002 Cav. What else would i need to get like the 8 gauge amp kit, rca cable? I dont know too much, and any help would be appreciated.
Thanks |

One other thing what would be better two channel or 1(mono) channel? What about the ohms, do they have to be the same for both sub, amp, how does that work?

Re: audio
Can you give us a budget? just saying limited gives us nothing, also what sort of vehicle is this going in? for most budget set ups most people here would reccomend a single 15" set up with a budget amp such as Hifonics or Profile for sub stage and a good set of coaxils or preferably a cheap set of CDT comps with, agian, a budget amp. then a decent middle line CD player or if you are really on a budget or want to kkep a factory look (like me) yo ucan use the OEM CD player.

Re: audio
Start out with buyin an aftermarket cd player, then work from there. Something like this http://www.cbrstereo.com/index.asp?P...ROD&ProdID=468 is pretty cheap an will get the job done.

I want to keep the factory deck because there is a lot of extra costs when getting the new one installed because of what chevy did. So, is there anything that can connect to the factory deck that will bypass what was mentioned earlier. I just wanted 2 -10 inch kicker comps, 150(RMS) each and a rockford fosgate P3002 amp, 300 W x 1 @ 4 Ohms Bridged RMS. But im not sure if that will give the subs maximum power. Or would a bigger amp be required or get 1- 10 inch kicker comp vr (300 RMS) and the same amp. Which would sound better, because I just want to add some bass to the music and some times crank the subs.

the device you need is an LOC (line output converter) ... it hooks to the speaker outputs of the factory deck and provides a set of RCA outputs

Re: audio
can you fit a 12? or two for that matter? cause my friend has two 12" comps in a huge box and im really impressed. he for them as a pair with an amp for 200 from a dealer, so i would be if you can find these subs for 100 a pair they would be well worth your money.
or you could go with a single comp vr 12 in a ported box, but honestly i think the comps would get louder. what kinda space do you have? enough to port those comps?

I have the room, but the car is an everyday driver so I need to be able to have some trunk room. Or just pull them out. How much room would it take up in a cavy?
