Adding more paint after a few days? (TS-paints)

How long do I have to wait before adding another color? Is a week enough time or will that cause the paint to react (because of different drying times)? If anyone has some experience, I'd like to hear. I sprayed Tamiya TS gloss black last week, and I wet-sanded it and want to add more. Do I have to wait 1 month or is 1 week enough? Thanks

It's hard to set a standard waiting time because of many variables when you spray the paint. Usually, I use my nose. If you cannot smell any thinner, it's pretty sure it's ready for next step. Hope it helps.

It's only TS clear that's the problem. You can recoat the colors anytime, but w/clear you have to apply it w/in one hour of the final color, or wait about a month for the base coat to dry to keep it from cracking. I never wait, I always carefully shoot some clear right over the fresh color.

Re: Adding more paint after a few days? (TS-paints)

I've never had a problem with ts clear over other ts paints and air brush paints. Overnight is usually good enough for me.

I've only had cracking occur when painting a tamiya plastic spray paint over a tamiya polycarbonate spray paint without waiting for it to be completely dry. (at least a week.)

Yeah, a day or two if the weather is warm and dry is plenty. Even with TS-13, I usually only wait about a week.

I have used tamiya TS sprays a long time and never experienced the problem with their clear.I believe this was more of a myth or they changed the formula years ago.

It isn't a myth Aaron, just a case of Tamiya being cautious and covering their asses because a small number of people experienced problems. In reality it depends on your personal circumstances and techniques if you will need to wait the full month or not.
