Anyone ever make a battery charger?

I got a problem, i found my old mp3 player but I cant seem to find the charger. I am broke right now so I cant afford to go out and buy one and I cant find a 5v DC charger around the house, anyone have any ideas of what I could do to get this thing charged? I know its ghetto but come on help me out.

If you've got a 4-6 DCV charger you should be OK if they're similar Amperage,

And if you're good you can use batteies wired up to get a temporary charge since its DC, AA are 1.5 DCV so 3 = 4.5V, 4 = 6 V
Try 3 first, yes this is ghetto, if you have a multimeter check the voltage before applying it to the MP3 player,
and try 3 first...

Re: Anyone ever make a battery charger?

The problem with that is I cant find anything that is the right size to plug into the spot on the mp3 player.

I've got a bag of spare DC inverters/transformers, I can usually find a plug to fit,

If you can, cut it off a few inches down, wire it up, then when through, solder it back to the converter and wrap individually then both with electrical tape, or open the MP3 player and use where the connections actually run into the machine

If you dont have some experience doing this kinda stuff, I suggest you're going to have to wait for the $ flow to pick back up and then pick up a new power supply

Re: Anyone ever make a battery charger?

Ive got a 3.2v charger hooked up to it now, just took a little widening with a tiny screwdriver. Now hopefully the battery will hold a charge, thanks for your help.

If you didn't check the polarities of the power plug/receptacle, you're one lucky fella, sivic02. Hope it works, man.
