Cool noisy doors

I have a 93 Cutlass Ciera with 196,000 miles on it. The car still runs quite well but lately I notice a creaking sound that seems to be coming from the doorjams when I pull away from a light or just step on the gas. I have never had this problem with a GM car before. It seems to be happening on both sides. If you close all four doors hard it seems to solve the problem temporarily but it always returns. I realize this may seem minor compared to some of the other posts in this forum, but it is really annoying. Any thoughts are appreciated.

Re: noisy doors

You might try a little lube on the hinges and silicone for the rubber door seals.

Thanks.. I already lubed the hinges. What type/brand of silicone would help the doorseals??

Re: noisy doors

I use Turtle Wax's stuff. Another thing to lube with grease is the striker...the pin doodad that sticks out and holds the door closed.

Thanks again greasing the strikers seems to have solved it. Funny how both doors started doing this at the same time.
