16x8 wheels for 2001 SE?

Has anyone placed 16x8 inch wheels on a 2001 SE instead of the stock 16x7? You can't find 16x7 inch wheels anywhere. Looking to change the look of my X with new wheels/tires. Any suggestions as to where to look? How thick of tire can I go without having to do any alterations?
31, 32inch? I am looking to avoid having to trim wheel wells, etc. Will a 16x8 work? Any help would be appreciated.

a 16x8 will work, but your tire will stick out past the wheel well slightly. As far as the biggest tire to run without any modifications, I'd say 31", depending on what tire you go with. Even with a 2" SL, you have to take the mud flaps off and do minor trimming if you went with 32" tires.
