tranny shudder

[color=darkgreen]
2003 Blazer 4WD 4dr

Under moderate to hard acceleration from a dead stop I have a destinct shudder from 0 - about 25mph and then it stops. Hard acceleration after 25mph does not have a shudder, nor does light/normal acceleration from a dead stop.

Otherwise car is in tip-top condition.

Suggestions?

Any clunking or clanging when you go from drive to reverse?

Nope, no noises out of the usual. Car has 40000 miles and is very tight, I think it was a rental. I bought it 6 months ago.

I would still have them checked out along with your driveshaft and also have the tires balanced and rotated.

Re: tranny shudder

thinking about it, i agree with LT, tires maybe wearing funny try rotating front to back first.
rear tires sometimes get a cupping wear and that maybe what you are feeling.

This is a new set of tires. Did the same thing with the old ones.

Then I would be looking into an alignment.

Re: tranny shudder

another thing to look at is the rear diff. fluid. sometimes the limited slip fluid gets dirty(contanimated or worn out ) and the clutches in the gears don't slip right and cause a grabbing sensation.
