went to the track sunday

so sunday i went to the track to see what i'm running, turns out i ran a 16.18 @84 mph, i was pretty happy with that seeing as i didnt put much money into my motor. also, this was run on bald snow tires (like 2/32's left) so i was spinning alot in 1st and 2nd. i'll post up my slips, pics and video when i get my computer back, (damn viruses) but it was a good day. my buddys auto firebird was running 15.7's all day so it was cool to keep up with him most of the time

That's pretty sad. Don't you have stereo stuff in your car though...

Re: went to the track sunday

You could get high 15's with that mph, but if it doesent get any faster I wouldent expect any faster times than a high 15.

my best run:

r/t - .581
60' - 2.437
330 - 6.787
1/8 - 10.432
mph - 67.51
1000 - 13.546
1/4 - 16.182
mph - 84.43

worst run:

r/t - .798
60' - 2.531
330 - 7.034
1/8 - 10.697
mph - 67.04
1000 - 13.822
1/4 - 16.425
mph - 86.72

DOHC ZC
I/H/E
2.5 inch header back exhaust with cherry bomb
Mild P&P (port match)
bored TB
no tuning.
4 inch drop
bald winter tires
no traction
upper strut bars
full stereo (single 12, box, and amp) about 120 ish pounds
spare tire
passenger seat
honda jack
tools
paintball gun

also running teg 14 inch rims so its not bad, if i had slicks, i would have hit high 15's for sure because traction was a huge issue

Re: went to the track sunday

You suck at driving.

You gotta lower your 60s, you should be able to run a 15.8 I would think. What tranny are you using?

Get back there.. Especially if I EVER bring my car out.

Re: went to the track sunday

Remove tools. Easiest weight loss. Get different tires, pull a 2.2 60 ft and you'll be running 15.7.

Re: went to the track sunday

theres alot of things to add in.

weight, traction, driver skill, motor condition

weight is a big factor with ef's, I see people bragging great times with everyday setups but then their car is an 88 hf gutted to hell.

Re: went to the track sunday

I guess it's not bad... you just need better tires. Do you dump the clutch or slip it?
