Anniversary Gift

I just got off of the phone with my lame father. For mothers day, I cooked my mom this awesome lunch for when she came home from church. My dad got her a plant. She loved my lunch and now it has come time for it to be my parents anniversary. In case you were wondering why I called my dad lame, he wants me to get a gift for her. I want to give my mom nothing but the best, possibly even telling her its from me, but I need your help. My mother has never been one to accept very much praise for everything that she does but as you all know without her I, well my whole family for that matter would be nothing. What to get for her?

By the by she is 46 years old and I don't know what other information would be beneficial.

Thanks for any help in advance.

Re: Anniversary Gift

As a mother myself I have found that the things that are made are better than anything you can buy. What is she into.

most of her life is taken up by being the best mother she can possibly be at all times and i will never be able to thank her enough for that. in her spare time she reads and works in the program ministry at our church. apparently i'm seeking an anniversary gift that will be from my dad but i like your idea of fabricating something from all the men in the house. being that it is their anniversary i don't necessarily want to make my dad look like an ass for not getting a gift for her on his own but i haven't totally ruled that out yet.

Re: Anniversary Gift

Look in her jewellery box, decide whether silver, gold or white gold (she will usually only wear one of these).

Show existing jewellery to classy/tasteful female friend. Send female friend to jewellers with you. Take your Dads credit card.

Re: Anniversary Gift

Power tools ... everyone LOVES power tools !!! Or is that just me?

Seriously, give her a day at the spa, or a shopping spree (whatever you can afford), or take her on a day trip somewhere. I know my Mom loves garden centers and IKEA !!!

Re: Anniversary Gift

I say ditch your dad on his own. It's his anniversary, his responsibility, not yours.

Re: Anniversary Gift

I agree...Dad should buy his own. Or at least go with you and buy yours, too.

How many years have they been married? How much does your dad want to spend?

Maybe I'm just a bad son, but I never have and don't think I ever will get my mom or dad anything for their anniversary.
