automatic climate control from limited in non-limited (manual) model

I have an 01 4Runner SR5 Sport with the manual climate control and I think it would be really slick to have the automatic one w/ the LCD screen from a Limited so I don't have to constantly muck with the dials to keep comfortable.

I had an 89 Toyota P/U a while back where I was easily able to swap in a nice gauge cluster that had the tach and everything and it went right in; it was already wired for it.

I was just wondering if anyone had any info on whether this could be done on a newer (01) 4Runner and with the climate control system? All the dials seem to be electronic on mine; e.g. they turn lightly to the touch, so I don't think they are operating any kind of linkage. This leads me to believe that the wiring for automatic vs. manual could be the same. Then of course there is all the other stuff that usually accompanies the automatic one such as the outside temp sensor, and whatever temp sensors are required on the inside; so maybe this is a little bit of a stretch.

So, does anyone know if a manual climate control in an 01 SR5 4Runner model is wired to accept the automatic climate control unit from the Limiteds?

Thanks.
