97 keyless programming

I have a 97 outback and I want to know how to program the keyless. I've searched the forum but the instructions I found don't work because
there is no switch under the dash. I know it has keyless because I can see the box under the dash that says Subaru keyless. Any help would be apreciated. I have the remote that came with the car and I put a new battery in it.

keyless switch

the switch should have been mounted right next to the hood release lever.within 3 inches.if not look for a 2 lead wire brown in color.it may be tucked behind the module you stated you saw.trust me it there.hold the switch in and turn the key to the on position.when the hazards stop flashing.press any button on your key fob, while still holding the switch.if you have more then one fob.you must press a button on each.up to 4 can be programmed.if you are only using one fob.press the button 4 timess pausing to use up all 4 slots.this will keep anyone from crooking your car with there fob.
