Microsoft's new offering "Windows One Care"

The following is a link to an article I received in an email from pcmag.com about Microsoft's latest offering to it's consumers- Windows One Care. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,1759,1815467,00.asp
My questions are, 1) What do you think of this service? 2) If you own a Windows PC , would you subscribe to this service, or would you rather do it all by yourself? 3) What do you think a subscription based service like this should cost?

I'll start with my answers. 1) It is a good service for those who are unwilling to continually update their anti virus, spyware software, and who do not regularly defragment, or clean up their hard drive. It is also good for those who are unable to do so due to lack of knowledge of available products, the frequency of updating, the extra expense of purchased software, (although there is a lot of free software and freeware available.)And to those who are too lazy to care about hat infects their computer until something happens and they cannot use it. I think that this would be targeted to a certain portion of the population that meets the criteria I stated above.2) I personally wouldn't subscribe to the service unless it was free (yes, I have been called a 'cheap bastard'.) I usually do those items by myself and keep everything continually updated and operational, and all of the items I have to keep my PC running at it's optimal level, I downloaded or installed for free.3) Judging by what is out there and keeping price in mind to lure those who would best be suited to this type of service, I would have to say anywheres between $39.99 to $69.99/yr with a 30 day free trial period so the consumer can try it out to see if it works to their expected levels.

I think that price is very reasonable and would recommend it for average computer users and below. Any expert is going to want control of their system to the Nth degree.

I agree. That service would benefit the "average user". I read so often of people having problems with their computers, and taking it in the shop. only to find the unit is infested with viruses, spyware/adware. This service could put their minds at ease and take care of managing multiple protections for them without them having to remember to do it. the price I quoted in my first post was an estimate based on what I see available to the computer user. I think the price might come in a little higher for all it offers, but knowing Microsoft, they probably will keep it to a certain price point so as not to over price it and scare the casual computer user away. It will be interesting to see the final product and price though.

Remember it is a Microsoft service. I wouldn't trust it as far as I could throw it. Maybe in 3 or 4 years and numerous security scares later I would consider it, but not at inception.

If its on disk I could throw it pretty far,

I wouldn't pay for the service, they offered a beta version which I did like though,
