01 maxima stalled this weekend??

ok i was recently having problems when i woudl start my car iot would liek sputter and then not start and i would try again and give it gas and it would finally start up. then at a stop light the car jus died and would not start.i jumped it and it worked but no everytime i go to start it it does it again has trouble starting. What could be the problem and how coudl i fix this i dunno if its my battery or my alternator or what.

Dont know why u suggest batt., but to check buy 10$ multimeter from radioshack and check voltage...

Is this probl only when cold? If so, I would suggest replacing TPS (easy DIY, 2 screws, 2 connectors, 90$). Its on the end of throttle body axle. Similar to this: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/748507/6 and u may check it with the multimeter.

After warmup, TPS is used only with A/T, and O2 sensor(s) will pic the tab.

Seek out how to do the self tests, 2002 FSM link is at bottom of page:
