Shortening the GAp

Hey all this is my first time posting in this forum so Ill give you a lil brief history of whats been going on. Aight I started off with an INtegra non vtec with an uprgraded suspension(type R) all the bolt ons exhaust intake more fuel. etc. and a stripped interior. In a str8 line she did okay I could run with stock Gsrs and everything that was stock under the sun on back roads and moutain roads it was totally different. I had never lost on a backroad untill now. Recently My integra is no longer in action, the engine blew and the tranny went at the same time.So instead of spending 4 grand to "fix" it I bought a 89 240sx. Im loving this car and it realy handles rather well, even though it doesnt turn in as fast and the brakes suck BALLS its fun. Any way I was cruising around the other day and this old dude rolls up in an early model Honda S2000. Now my 240sx is completely stock but its loud as shit cause well all 240's are loud as shit. Any way this old guy and his bitch are laughing and shit and the dude wont get off my ass. He keeps riding my bumper then he speeds up to the side of me and says "COme on man lets see what that rusty peice of shits got", I go "who da fuck is you cuz?" then I smile at his bitch(whos actually not that bad looking and yeah I said cuz). Any way I cant get him to stop fucking with me and its really annoying me cause well thats just mean. So I turn off the main road onto some backroads I know and punch it to loose em. The fucker stays on my ass. This is a first, so I push it some more and i take a corner as I usually would take it with the integra but the 240 understeered, So I yanked on my e brake to counter that and kept going. Any way the fuckers still breathing down my damn neck just toying with me, and Im really getting annoyed now. So I started really winding out the engine and shifting at around 6. Suprisingly the dude didnt know how to heal and toe, So he wasnt able to pass me in the really tight corners. But then up ahead the road starts to zig zag and it sloped down hill, I had never taken this road with the 240 so I honestly didnt know how well it would fare. I taek the slope fast and heal and toe to second as the turn switched from left to right the 240 started to sag almost it would lift up and down as if it were jumping into the corners but it sagged, it didnt bounce back fast enough I guess idk its hard to explain in either case I started oversteering like a bastard and end up accidently drifting the corner, and while Im paying attention to wtf my cars doing he comes flying past me in the fucking corner exit. and flcks me off and keeps on pulling on me. till I didnt see his ass no more. =\ this was one of the most shitty feelings I had ever gotten. a Cocky mother fucker who doubted me and my car and who won with a fucking bitch in his car, and he talked shit. Plus he was older. =\. I know the two cars are far apart in stock trim but still this sucked. What kind of suspension mods and steering mods can I do to the 240 to make it turn in as quick as the s2000(or integra) people have been telling me coilovers and etc. but Ive driven a 240 with tokicos it road holds better but it doesnt lighten the turn in feel, what can i Do to change how crisp and fast it tucks in?

you gotta change all the worn suspension bushings, and you gotta change your front radius arms with aftermarket ones that runs on no bushings, that will make your car turn in much better. well stock 240's are fun cars to drive, but they don't handle too great. i would get some nice sway bars, and shock and spring combo. also about the S2000, thats nothing htat a turbo or a swapped motor can't handle.

i think zanark watches to many movies

"i take a corner as I usually would take it with the integra but the 240 understeered, So I yanked on my e brake to counter that and kept going"

mmm hmm
Right about there is where i stopped reading and decided to call rice. Not only does he suck at grammer and punctuation but he can't even make up a good story.

Lil info for yah my man, you can't just jump onto these boards and expect to recieve respect. You need to:
1. Post with humility and little ego.
2. Tell us a story we would want to hear and make it believeable.
3. When racing someone on the Streets don't be an ass about it. We might just have to pull the rice card on yah.

Re: Shortening the GAp

One more thing...I doubt an S2k would need to be heel-toed to keep up with or beat a worn 240 through a couple twistes. Okay, I'm done with this one now.

Focker, OUT!

Take Tat's advice

Welcome to the street racing boards, and good luck modding your car to...whatever it is you're trying to accomplish.

Re: Shortening the GAp

thanks tat, and sorry about the cussing lol, eh chex you have no idea wtf your talking about dude, Dont ever asume things about people. #1 Im not a ricer, #2 Ive been posting on AF for a loooooooong time I dont need to try to earn anyones respect. I was pissed because of the way the guy acted and he wouldnt stop messing with me knowing his car was faster, and I lost. Choose to believe me or not I figured this would be the best place to post this, I dont really care if any of you get amusement out of my "story" or what not, I just wanted to know the best way to mod my car. Tat answered my question and I appreciate that. the rest of you who dont believe me thats your choice. But I do race on backroads and the 240 did understeer in the corner, if I did not pull the ebrake to swing my rear end around and change the weight shift I woulda just kept going forward and probably smacked a tree.

He has about 80hp on you. Unless he sucks at driving then he should have kicked your ass.

he has more then 80. the 89 sohc 240's only made 140hp. so the S2000 has 100hp on him. and oh yeah Zanark, the part that telling you to change is more commonly known as Tension rods. go to ebay and you'll find them for around $120. the S13's is more prone to understeer for some reason, they said something to do with not enough weight in the front. you're goin to have to tune the understeer out by setting the shocks stiffer in the rear ( if you decide to go adjustables )
