Can't find the oil dip stick?

I know this is a stupid question. I have a 97 rodeo (sport) I just purchased. I can't seem to found the oil dip stick? Normally, I would assume it's on the right side of the engine. But, I can't located. There is a dip stick on the left side of the engine. I think it's the transmission stick. Can anyone help me? I'm trying to check my oil level. Thanks,.

Hmmm, not sure what year the change was made, but newer Rodeo's don't have a transmission dipstick, so if that applies to your truck, that one dipstick would be for the oil. Someone else will be along to confirm this, I'm sure.

Nope, that's the oil dipstick. The tranny doesn't have a dipstick.
