Question Regal Coupe with starting trouble

Hi there,

I have a Coupe from 1989 with a 3.1 v6 engine.

The engine coil in the middle was broke so cylinder 3 and 6 did not work. I replaced the coil and for two days the car drives like new.....

After 2 days i want to take the car for a spin but it didn't start anymore. Its turning. So i check the sparkplugs and found out that the sparkplugs dont fire anymore. If the sparkplugs dont fire there's also no gas in the cylinder. My thought is that the coil module is broke but why after two days???

Anybody a good idea????

Many thanks.

Re: Need Help !!!!! Please

I had the same prob w/ my regal
all i had to do is replace plugs and wires along with
the coil and she fired right up.
but before she wouldn't get any fire what-so-ever
also you might want to check your injectors you should be able to replace them (for about $31
for plugs and $1.91 a plug) also what model is your car custom or normal

Thanks for the reply guys.

The plugs and cables are already new. Before the car runs on 4 cylinders in stead of 6 so i replaced the plugs and cables. Since this didn't work i replaced 1 of the three engine coils.

After replacing that the car worked fine for 2 days. Now it only turns but no fire at the plugs.

So i can change the injectors but i think it will not make any diverance.

The car is a buick regal coupe limited from 1989 with an 3.1 v6 engine.

Replace the ignition module under the coils. It probably went bad when the coil cracked. It will prevent the engine from running entirely. It is not hard to fix and is a whole lot easier to change than the injectors. If the car ran well but no spark the injectors have nothing to do with the ignition system.

Tomorrow i will get a ignition module, cost me about 250 euro's here including three coils. I hope this will fix the problem so i can enjoy my car again...

Many thanks.....
