Tutorial: Making Exhausts
Step 1: Get materials, you will need 2 pipes (one that will fit in the other one), a dremel, silver paint (silver sharpie also works), paint pen, a file, sandpaper, a x-acto knife, glue, tape, index card, and putty. here are some pics of wut you will need.
http://img238.exs.cx/img238/8606/materials0qf.jpg Step 2: cut the pipes like so http://img238.exs.cx/img238/3461/pipescut7ml.jpg Step 3: when you put the pipes together you will see there is a little gap... we can fix this with a cut peice of index card. after you cut the index card you put it around the silver pipe and insert the silver pipe with the index card on it into the barss pipe. http://img238.exs.cx/img238/1447/gap9fv.jpg http://img238.exs.cx/img238/4488/pipesfitted1fx.jpg Step 4: apply glue around the silver pipe to hold the index card and the pipe in the brass pipe. You might also want to use a lil krazy glue. DONT USE TOO MUCH GLUE.a little glue will go a long way. the glue is the lil ring that looks like weld... http://img238.exs.cx/img238/228/pipesglued3tg.jpg Step 5: now is when you will use your glazing putty. apply putty on top of the glue joint that you have just made. http://img102.exs.cx/img102/6357/puttied9iv.jpg Step 6: Now you must wait for the putty to dry. i would give it a good 20 minutes. while you are waiting you can get your sand paper out. Step 7: After the putty has dried sand smooth like so, also if you want you can cut the pipe on a slant like i have done. http://img102.exs.cx/img102/2199/pipessanded4iz.jpg http://img102.exs.cx/img102/62/pipessandedside2hz.jpg Step 8: Now that you hopefully sanded everything down with no problems, paint the brass pipe, i painted mine black for a C/F look. http://img102.exs.cx/img102/5761/drying2pi.jpg Step 8: Make sure the black is dry, now you can do the silver area i used the sharpie becasue it was easier, and it fit nicely in there, but you can also use silver paint. here is the final product. http://img102.exs.cx/img102/9865/silver18kk.jpg http://img102.exs.cx/img102/8897/silver24jb.jpg Lemme know what you guys think, i think it came out very nicely am going to use this on my next import i build. Re: Tutorial: Making Exhausts
Yes, but they're all different methods. I think they all have their pro's and cons. Though I think mine is the best
:PIn the end, the exhaust is one of the most important things on show cars we like to build.
